For me, it begins with a hero, Jean-Francois Thiriart. Jailed as a collaborationist after World War II, he emerged from neo-fascist underground in the 1960s.
Thiriart created Jeune Europe (Young Europe). It’s MANIFESTO TO THE EUROPEAN NATION called for a policy of Neither Washington nor Moscow. Jeune Europe wanted a united European homeland with its own nuclear arsenal; replace chattering & corrupt parliamentarism with dynamic governing elite; sanction free enterprise only if civic, disciplined and controlled by the nation.
In EUROPE–AN EMPIRE OF 400 MILLION MEN, Thiriart railed against the postwar settlement & occupation imposed upon Europe. He called Franklin Roosevelt a senile & perverted megalomaniac; said wind-bag democracy a front for plutocracy and so on.
Thiriart cited Europe’s monopoly of creative power, cultural supremacy, unique mission to bring morality to the rest of the world. He said Europe represents the engine that moves the locomotive, black races represent the carriage.
A watchword of Jean Thiriart: “we consider ourselves to be at the forefront of the Center, the avant-garde center . . . . the linear division of the political world from extreme left to extreme right is totally outdated.”
Jeune Europe’s geopolitical strategy was to think in terms of big spaces; countries guided by interests & facts and not by ideologies. Thus Communism had become in USSR an agent of pan-Russian appetites. Since 1935 the Soviets were, in fact, more Russian than Communist. In 1964, Thiriart had predicted that instinct of self-preservation would outweigh ideology as Russians would need the help of Europeans to stem the yellow flood.
In Thiriart’s vision, the racial frontiers of Europe would coincide with geopolitical frontiers. There would be a massive white power bloc from Brest to Vladisvostock, Eurasian Europe.
Jeune Europe set up training camps for Political Soldiers. The organization was re-structured along Leninist lines as a vanguard party dedicated to leading the European Revolution.
We lost Thiriart in 1992. His ideas live on in the Parti Communautaire National-europeen, now led by Luc Michel. Where is the American PCN? We of the Partisan Tendency seek to build it!
