The Problem of the Right

What passes for the American Right has always been defensive in nature, trying to slow their retreat. They never had what Tomas Borge of the Sandinistas called “A nose for power”.

Liberals and Neocons start wars and they mindlessly cheerlead. They ritualisticly act as electoral cannon fodder for Republicans. Or, worse yet, become zombies for the Religious Right.

Then they cry when events & the State of the Union continue to go downhill. They’re always whining! I thought bleeding-heart liberals were supposed to be the champion whiners.

Their almost religious devotion to the “free market” has made them suckers for Goldman Sachs. It’s become a new idolatry. (I thought that was against the Ten Commandments). What does “free enterprise” mean in the age of the trans-national corporation?

The Right keeps signalling retreat. Even Pat Buchanan bugles the same message with his calls for a Republic Not an Empire. Hey, America’s always been an Empire! The problem is we should stick to the Americas!

Seal the border? Why not conquer Mexico? We need to take the offensive once again!

The Partisan Tendency is the opposite of the Libertarian Party. Like George Orwell, we’re to the right on social & cultural issues and to the left on fiscal & economic issues. And we DO have a nose for power!imperium
